About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Acute 2 unit at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in coordinating, supervising, and implementing patient care based on competence, professional expertise, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise patient care based on competence, professional expertise, and evidence-based practice.
  • Establish and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with other staff members, physicians, patients, and patient family members.
  • Provide guidance to interdisciplinary team members by supervising nursing interventions and assisting with related tasks.
  • Document and communicate all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to the appropriate member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Communicate the plan of care to the patient and care partner(s) for the active involvement of the patient in the evolution of the plan throughout hospitalization.
  • Conduct hourly rounds with the patient and care partner, focusing on pain management, skin integrity, elimination, and other miscellaneous patient needs.
  • Administer medications to assigned patients as directed and assess and document patient responses; initiate appropriate interventions per Hospital/Unit policy.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current California License required.
  • Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area required.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent acute care experience required.
  • Current certification in specialty area preferred.
  • Experience with EHR (Cerner MediTech, etc.) preferred.
  • Current AHA BLS card required.
  • LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire.

This position is represented by SEIU L121 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
