Key Responsibilities:
- Execute essential engineering tasks that require a solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
- Engage in projects involving the design and rehabilitation of highway bridges and retaining walls, conduct bridge load evaluations, and review working drawings alongside cost assessments.
- Utilize various structural engineering software to analyze structures effectively.
- Prepare and verify structural calculations and details for a range of materials, with a primary focus on steel and concrete.
- Create structural drawings using Open Bridge, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as roadway and drainage, to ensure documents align with structural drawings.
- Contribute as a vital member of our Structures Team.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in bridge design.
- Recent expertise in designing steel and/or concrete bridges.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is preferred.
- Familiarity with bridge design and analysis software, including Open Bridge, Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, and AASHTO BrR.
- Proficient in preparing drawings using Open Bridge, MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
