We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Los Rios Community College District. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing police services at our district locations, protecting life and property, and enforcing federal, state, and municipal laws.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol district property, both on foot and by vehicle, to maintain public safety and respond to reports of disturbances.
- Investigate crimes, follow rules of evidence, and counsel, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
- Provide traffic control, services for gatherings and assemblies, and meet with owners of cited vehicles to discuss citations.
- Transport and process individuals at the appropriate detention facility, serve and enforce court orders, and advise the public on the use of facilities.
- Render emergency first aid and CPR, refer student code of conduct and equity violations to appropriate officials, and attend hearings as needed.
- Must be 21 years old and have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Must have a strong understanding of community-based policing and the ability to foster positive public relations.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public.
