Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - MRI Technologist

EmergeOrtho is a leader in comprehensive musculoskeletal care, with a commitment to innovation and quality. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist - MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury through the performance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Assist physicians during the administration of contrast media and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required.
  • Determine imaging factors based on the type of scan and patient characteristics.
  • Thoroughly explain the process and procedure to patients to alleviate anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to the patient's age, medical condition, or other special requirements.
  • Screen patients and any visitors outside of the magnetic field before the exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the exam.
  • Routinely prepare exams for interpretation by the radiologist, including correct identification and film processing, adequate clinical history, and previous exams for comparison if available.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • AA/AS or BA/BS preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited MRI technologist training program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
  • Licensure and/or certification as required by the State of North Carolina.
  • Knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform MRI procedures, including body mechanics and patient movement.
