Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in procuring and distributing medication orders as per physician and pharmacist requests, adhering to established protocols.
- Accurately fill physician orders, medication kits, and stock requisitions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Replenish emergency drug containers and maintain floor stock areas to guarantee availability of necessary medications.
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas promptly and accurately, following a set schedule.
- Support the purchasing process for drugs and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and receipt.
- Conduct inspections of medication storage areas monthly, identifying and replacing outdated or unusable drugs.
- Maintain logs and documentation meticulously, ensuring compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in automated dispensing systems, ensuring proper inventory management and stock rotation.
- Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the overall enhancement of pharmacy services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Current pharmacy technician certification and required state licensing, with ongoing continuing education.
