Job Summary:

This position provides delivery of patient care with a smooth transition from academic nurse to professional Registered Nurse (RN). The Nurse Resident will demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned, coordinating the delivery of patient care, completing required documentation, participating in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, and effectively utilizing the Nursing Process.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, incorporating the Nursing Process and evidence-based practice
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate from an RN program at an accredited School of Nursing
  • Scheduled to take the NCLEX and eligible for licensing as an RN in Kentucky
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • CPR certification within 30 days
  • Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License eligible
