The Hospice Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients within a hospice environment, ensuring the coordination of services as directed by the attending physician. This role focuses on addressing the unique needs of patients and their families who are navigating terminal illnesses and end-of-life considerations.
In this capacity, the registered nurse will oversee the activities of Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional holistic care to both patients and their families within the hospice setting.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, and possess a valid RN license to practice in North Carolina (either a state license or a multi-state compact license).
Applicants should have at least one year of clinical experience in hospice care or an acute care environment, ideally with a background in Oncology, Medical/Surgical, or Critical Care. Clinical experience should be recent, within the last three years. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment and proficiency in managing patients with terminal conditions. Additionally, the ability to work autonomously while providing oversight and mentorship to CNAs is essential. Basic computer proficiency is preferred, and maintaining Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
