Position Overview:
Under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist and in collaboration with clinical personnel, the Pharmaceutical Assistance Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating patient access to necessary medications. This includes managing prior authorization requests, co-pay assistance programs, and medication assistance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a primary resource for patients seeking assistance with pharmaceutical manufacturer programs (20%)
2. Coordinate and submit applications for assistance, ensuring compliance with drug-specific requirements (20%)
3. Monitor requests to ensure timely approvals and follow up as needed (15%)
4. Maintain meticulous records of program participation and medication dispensation (10%)
5. Document interactions in the electronic health record in accordance with established standards (10%)
6. Analyze management data to enhance contract performance (5%)
7. Collaborate with the Enrollment Services Department to enroll eligible patients (5%)
8. Provide pharmacy-related information to healthcare team members (5%)
9. Foster teamwork and cooperation with clinic staff (5%)

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent role
- Valid Pharmacy Technician License and Certification required

Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare administration, including eligibility and enrollment processes
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health records
