At Inova, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Hospitalist to join our team at Fairfax Hospital.

About the Role:

The Med Hospitalist will provide direct hands-on care to patients within the limits of credentials granted by the Medical Staff of Inova Fairfax. They will adhere to patient care and admission criteria policies and procedures of the Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality clinical practices and effective patient management, under physician supervision, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in quality and best practice initiatives by utilizing standards and guidelines for cost-effective care delivery.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Basic Life Support prior to start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (for Critical Care) upon start; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (for Pediatrics) upon start.
  • Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; new graduate considered.
  • Education: For Nurse Practitioners: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing.
