We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Certification Engineer to join our team at Regent Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for preparing working plans, detailed drawings, and complete mechanical or electrical drawings of components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions, and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Prepare final sketches of proposed drawings, parts lists, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Documentation and Compliance: Make any adjustments or changes necessary or desired, modify existing documentation per Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and prepare design releases to manufacturing.
- Project Management: Develop well-organized project proposals, project-specific certification plans, and project schedules.
- Collaboration and Communication: Assist engineers in the development of complex drawings involving some individual creativeness, application of advanced drafting techniques, and knowledge of practical, mechanical, and fabrication problems.
- Education and Training: College-level education highly desirable with specialized instruction in drafting principles/techniques. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and plus.
- Experience: Four years of related experience in a technical, manufacturing environment.
- Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of electro-mechanical drafting work, high mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics and blueprints, knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software, knowledge of technical supervision techniques, knowledge of quality control, knowledge of project management techniques, knowledge of estimating methods, knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, ability to take calculated risks based on sound judgment, ability to conduct major research projects, ability to create and apply complex equipment, ability to establish procedures, ability to work in a production-oriented environment, ability to work under frequently changing priorities, ability to select and evaluate materials, and ability to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language.
- Inside Work: The majority of the work will be performed in an office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities.
- Physical Demands: Sedentary work with moderate walking or standing, occasional lifting of light objects, and repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
