Education:
Applicants should possess an Associate's degree in computer information systems or a related technical discipline, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in System Support leadership and Infrastructure Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Preferred candidates will have demonstrated leadership and project management skills in IT infrastructure domains, including servers, data centers, networking, and end-user support. Familiarity with VMWare, Azure, and O365 is also advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills:
Candidates must exhibit the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and end users. Proficiency in conducting complex research, reporting, and data querying is essential. Advanced training and certifications in server/desktop administration, Microsoft technologies, CCNA, and other recognized IT skills are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy advanced monitoring, visualization, and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce mean-time-to-repair.
- Configure and manage Windows and Linux servers to align with business goals.
- Oversee and maintain critical server virtual and physical infrastructures, along with Storage Area Networks.
- Administer next-generation firewall and VPN services.
- Manage Active Directory and Azure Domain Services.
- Oversee DNS and DHCP services.
- Ensure high availability and optimal performance of mission-critical systems, including file servers, email servers, Customer Information Systems, and application servers.
- Maintain a strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, VLANs, Ethernet, switching, and routing.
- Administer backup and recovery solutions.
- Conduct and evaluate disaster recovery processes to safeguard enterprise data.
- Perform and monitor software patching to minimize vulnerabilities in server resources.
- Utilize scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python to streamline operational processes.
- Develop and maintain training materials and documentation related to system configurations and best practices.

The Junior Systems Architect may be assigned additional duties as necessary to meet the objectives of the organization.
External Relationships:
- Collaborate with vendors to assess and procure new equipment, report malfunctions, resolve hardware and software issues, and stay informed about current technology trends.
- A valid driver's license without violations that would affect insurability is required.
- Familiarity with IT-related equipment and standard office tools is essential. The role is primarily office-based, which may involve higher noise levels than average. Flexibility for weekend, evening hours, overtime, and occasional travel may be necessary.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Normal vision and hearing capabilities are necessary.
