Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting our pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring accurate and efficient dispensing of medications, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including counting, measuring, and labeling.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and manage inventory.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient information, medication lists, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with pharmacy practices, regulations, and technology.

Requirements

  • PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico)
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with Walgreens
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications)
  • Basic level PC skills (starting and shutting down computer, using mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing information online)
  • Knowledge of store inventory control
