Job Summary

As a Helicopter Pilot Regional Relief Specialist at Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aviation and medical procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Complete pre-flight checks and verify the aircraft's airworthiness before each flight.
  • Ensure the medical flight team is familiar with the aircraft's medical systems and equipment.
  • Responsible for completion of required documentation and detailed flight planning.
  • Participate in regular meetings, activities, and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
  • Meet the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program requirements, including 2000 total flight hours, 1000 hours PIC in category, and 500 hours of rotor wing turbine.
  • Hold an Instrument rating, Fixed wing multiengine rating, and Commercial single-engine land rating.
  • First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
