Job Summary:

The Cardiac Catheterization Specialist provides high-quality patient care pre, peri, and post-invasive cardiac procedures under the direct supervision of a Cardiac Cath Lab RN. This role requires adherence to St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network policies and National Radiation Commission radiation safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers professional care to patients under direct supervision of a Cardiac Cath Lab RN.
  • Participates in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab and other departments.
  • Provides accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with Hospital and Cardiac Cath Lab policies.
  • Demonstrates understanding of specific medications used in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and responds appropriately.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities as scheduled and provides additional hours as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining hemostasis of access sites.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating all equipment in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Physical Demands:

This role requires standing for up to 8 hours per day in 4-hour increments while wearing lead protective equipment, sitting for up to 8 hours per day in 4-hour increments while wearing lead protective equipment, and walking for up to 6 hours per day in 30-minute increments. Continuous use of fingers and hands includes frequent twisting and turning, fingering, handling, and occasional firm grasping. Frequent use of upper extremities is also required.

Education and Training:

A Registered Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist or Registered Radiology Technologist, or graduate of a program related to procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab with successful completion of the RCIS exam within 1 year of hire, is preferred. Previous Cath Lab experience is also desired. ACLS certification within 1 year of hire date is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off, is offered to eligible employees. The compensation range may vary based on location and individual qualifications.
