Job Summary

Berry Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Reservoir/Exploitation Engineer to join our team in California or Utah. As a key member of our asset development and management team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing responsible development programs and depletion strategies that add value to the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reservoir Surveillance and Management: Manage reserves and resources outlooks for areas of responsibility, inclusive of inventory management and preparation of annual reserves presentation.
  • Asset Development and Planning: Create and optimize asset development and appraisal plans for execution and future budgeting purposes.
  • Depletion Planning and Review: Perform and occasionally lead the team in subsurface depletion reviews and overall reservoir surveillance initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work with team members to create improvement initiatives that result in value generation, efficiencies, and/or reduction of risk.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure operational compliance to state regulatory agencies for active and future developments.
  • Technical Communication: Communicate new technical information and discoveries effectively.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Work independently and occasionally mentor, guide, or direct less experienced engineers and team members.
  • Operational Safety and Environmental Compliance: Comply with all the Company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in oil and gas development and reservoir management.
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Certifications and/or qualifications within the area of specialty that enhance working knowledge and capabilities are a plus.
Desirable Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated well-developed knowledge of all reservoir technical principles, theories, and concepts, as well as knowledge of business principles, industry practices, and standards.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Advanced communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
  • Technical and Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to efficiently identify and manage multiple competing priorities, with a strong understanding of reservoir surveillance, both static and dynamic, and the application of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position in California is between $127,720 and $175,615 annually based on a full-time schedule. This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus and long-term incentive awarded in restricted share units, excellent benefits including full health benefits, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, 9/80 flex schedules, and generous paid time off.
