Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a key member of our team at Redwood Family Care Network, responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As an LVN, you will work closely with our team to ensure the health and safety needs of our residents are met, while also promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to individuals and ensure compliance with the five rights for verification purposes.
  • Attend residents' doctor appointments and address any concerns or changes with the attending physician.
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as bathing, cleaning, preparing meals, grooming, and cooking.
  • Audit all medications during a new medication cycle and check the five rights for verification.
  • Perform g-tube insertions for feeding to individuals, colostomy care, intramuscular injections, and diabetes insulin medication injections.
  • Evaluate residents' and participants' level of consciousness, neurological factors, and responsiveness post-seizure or traumatic episodes.
  • Redirect in the event of a behavioral episode and continue to support and listen to individuals' needs.
  • Complete and update client notes system on a daily basis, observing and reporting any unusual behaviors and injuries.
  • Assess and identify signs and symptoms of infections, perform basic physical reviews, and participate in community outing events.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse License (required).
  • First Aid/CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certifications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a California Driver's License.
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
