Radiology Imaging Specialist

Under the supervision of experienced professionals, the Radiology Technologist will perform accurate and efficient diagnostic exams in various areas of general radiology. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to provide high-quality images for interpretation. The successful candidate will apply principles of radiation protection and comply with regulations, assuming responsibility for designated areas and providing clinical instruction as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
- Acquire accurate patient histories and document in the medical record.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient physical ability and/or limitations.
- Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate with customers, administrative staff, medical staff, and peers.
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures.
- Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Provide procedural information/education to patients/families prior to each exam.
- Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently use hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to PACS.
- Assist in the training of students/new hires.
- Ensure equipment is wiped down between patients and exam rooms are clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
- Maintain competency in all assigned areas, including fluoroscopic, general diagnostic, orthopedic, and operating procedures.
- Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
- Training gained at student level.
- CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (180 days required).
- CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Upon Hire required).
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (Upon Hire required) or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross (Upon Hire required).
