Intensive Care Unit Advanced Practice Provider

Pulmonary Medicine Associates, a leading medical practice in Northern California, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our hospital ICU care team in the Sacramento area. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled APP who can provide high-quality medical care under the general supervision of a physician. The successful candidate will work closely with our physicians and other members of the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. As part of our ICU care team, you will have the opportunity to conduct comprehensive history and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and write prescriptions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care in the hospital ICU setting, including conducting comprehensive history and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and writing prescriptions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to review plans of care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients on procedures, treatment protocols, wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources.
- Document all services and orders in the patient's electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
- Assist in resolving complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients and/or their families.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP) - ACNP preferred.
- Current, unrestricted California NP license.
- Current Board certification in relevant specialty.
- Current DEA certificate without restriction.
- Minimum three years of related RN work experience; at least one year of related NP experience (preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
