Aviation Operations Pilot - PRN

Job Overview

The Aviation Operations Pilot PRN is tasked with operating the company aircraft, fulfilling the role of pilot in command or second in command in compliance with FAA regulations, as necessary. This position also encompasses various administrative and maintenance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior pilots with the organization’s flight operations and aircraft upkeep.
  • Ensure safe operation of assigned aircraft in accordance with safety protocols, aircraft manuals, and company policies.
  • Perform administrative tasks including necessary documentation, reporting, and analysis of departmental functions.
  • Transport personnel and retrieval teams to donor recovery sites.
  • Deliver essential materials to laboratories and transplant centers.
  • Maintain current pilot certifications and qualifications.
  • Foster effective communication and professional relationships within the organization and with external partners.
  • Engage actively in the company’s Quality Management Plan and Safety Management System to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives and support the company’s safety culture.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications and Requirements

Certification and Experience:

  • To serve as Pilot in Command: FAA issued Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, multi-engine land, and relevant flight experience in the aircraft operated by the organization, including required recurrent simulator training.
  • To serve as Second in Command: FAA Issued Commercial Pilot Certificate, multi-engine land with Instrument rating, or Airline Transport Certificate, multi-engine land.

Flight Experience:

  • To serve as Pilot in Command: Minimum of 5000 total flight hours, including 1000 in turbine aircraft and 2500 in multi-engine aircraft, with a type rating for CESSNA 525/525A or similar.
  • To serve as Second in Command: Minimum of 1500 total flight hours, including 250 as pilot in command, and requisite turbine and multi-engine hours.

Education:

Undergraduate degree in aviation management or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport items short distances.
  • Manual dexterity to operate telephones, computers, and necessary aircraft equipment.
