We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in the Crawfordsville, IN area for the upcoming school year.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will work alongside a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language therapy services to students in school settings. This role involves conducting assessments, providing therapy services, collaborating with teachers and parents, and participating in IEP development.
Responsibilities:- Assessment and Evaluation: Assist in conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments for students under the supervision of an SLP.
- Intervention and Therapy: Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, as directed by the SLP.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the implementation of effective communication strategies and support plans.
- IEP Development: Participate in the development, implementation, and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs under the guidance of an SLP.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, treatment plans, and other required documentation as directed by the SLP.
- Training and Support: Assist in providing training and support to school staff and parents on speech and language development and intervention strategies.
- Professional Development: Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Education: Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Indiana.
- Certification: ASHA certification for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
