Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide homebound instructional services to students with exceptional needs. As a member of our team, you will work closely with students, parents, and school staff to deliver high-quality educational services in a homebound setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement instructional activities provided by student's teacher(s) of record, including modifications and accommodations designed in the student's IEP.
  • Help create a learning environment that meets the needs of students with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Provide feedback to the student's teacher(s) regarding student progress during homebound instruction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a certificate or license issued by the Tennessee Department of Education with a relevant Special Education endorsement or similar license and endorsement.
  • Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience; three (3) years implementing Interventions and Supports and Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI), Trauma Informed Care, Social-Emotional Needs, and/or Problem Solving Models at the classroom, school, or district level preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of special education and/or specialty area.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of students with disabilities.
  • Communication and collaboration skills with parents, educators, and students.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular attendance and may involve working in a homebound setting, which may include traveling to students' homes or other locations. The position also requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
