- Prepare and cook a variety of foods to order, requiring short preparation times.
- Operate a grill station or produce food and serve customers at an a la carte station.
- Ensure high-quality food service by following current federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Read food orders or receive verbal instructions and prepare food accordingly.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Follow recipes and product directions to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve, and serve soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs.
- Prepare foods under supervision or instruction, using various kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry, or fish.
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, adhering to all Westminster Canterbury, client, and regulatory rules and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous cooking experience preferred (0-2 years).
- Good working knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Serve Safe certification required or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
