Job SummaryThe Staff Nurse, RN or LPN will provide high-quality patient care, conduct medical assessments, and implement physician's standing orders. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-admission screenings for patients requesting admission.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient charts, including nurse's notes and medication records.
- Conduct physical assessments on patients admitted to Gosnold facilities, adhering to established standards.
- Monitor patients for signs of medical complications and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Evaluate and document identified medical problems, reporting them promptly to the Medical Director or on-call staff physician.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions for Infection Control and proper procedures for disposing of sharps.
- Maintain a clean and safe nurse's station, adhering to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Participate in case reviews and in-service training programs to enhance professional development.
- Stay up-to-date on Gosnold procedures relevant to this position and adhere to the Professional Staff Code of Ethics.
- Conduct patient education sessions on addiction, health maintenance, and recovery topics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- One year of experience in nursing is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Current licensure as an RN or LPN in Massachusetts.
- Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within three months of hire.
