Job Title: Floor Technician

Job Overview:

Floor Technicians may work in various locations on client premises. This role involves cleaning and maintaining facilities or locations in a healthcare campus. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Xanitos may identify other responsibilities based on business necessities, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Monitor assigned areas and corridors for cups, spills, paper, and debris.
  • Clean all corners, edges, and baseboards in assigned areas.
  • Dust and mop all hard floor areas, cleaning behind doors and moving objects in the floor area that are movable.
  • Remove all marks/scuffs on the floor.
  • Damp mop floors with the proper assigned cleaning chemical or use a scrubbing machine.
Project Work:
  • Utilize floor machines for project work as assigned.
  • Burnish floors using a high-speed floor machine as directed.
  • Scrub floors and strip floors as needed or assigned.
  • May perform "Area Cleaner" job duties.
  • May perform "Waste Disposal Technician" job duties.
  • Perform related work as required.
Job Qualifications:
  • Successful applicants for this position must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
  • Experience in the janitorial industry is a plus.
  • Medical cleaning experience is a plus.
  • Floor Tech experience is required.
  • Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening, and Drug Test are required.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses. Possible exposure to chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
