Research Analyst

Join our team at New England Asset Management as a Research Analyst and contribute to the success of our Structured Securities group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing large datasets, preparing reports, and providing analytical support to our trading desks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in our analytical systems and processes, identifying opportunities for enhancement and improvement.
  • Query and update large loan datasets used for credit analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide programming support to our trading desks using SQL, VB/VBA, and other tools for data aggregation, analysis, and automation.
  • Perform regular investment surveillance analysis, cash flow stress testing, and model-based scenario analysis, delivering high-quality reports to our stakeholders.
  • Prepare written analysis and research under the guidance of senior analysts, showcasing your expertise and insights.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or Statistics.
  • CFA or MBA certification is highly preferred, or progress towards one is a plus.
  • High level of academic achievement and relevant work experience (1-5 years) in asset-backed and/or fixed income markets.
  • Strong quantitative and technical skills, with a willingness to expand your skillset (Access, Advanced Excel, SQL, VB/VBA, and C#).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with a strong desire to initiate projects and take ownership of your work.
  • Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and keen attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity and credibility.
