The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a Part-time Safety and Security Coordinator for 1st shift, 7a - 3p, Saturday and Sunday. This position is essential for ensuring a secure and safe atmosphere for all residents, visitors, staff, and safeguarding community assets. Responsibilities include confirming the scheduled presence of employees and third-party contractors on the premises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols both inside and outside the facility to uphold a secure environment for residents and their belongings, as well as company assets.
  • Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls from apartments.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, visitors, and staff to ensure security protocols align with the facility's needs.
  • Assist with unique security requirements as they arise involving employees, visitors, and community members.
  • Document any incidents occurring within the community during the shift for the Director of Facilities and relevant administration.
  • Ensure safe access at all facility entrances at all times, including clearing walkways during adverse weather conditions.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with priorities set by the supervisor and fulfill specific duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • First responder training is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Must be capable of making swift decisions in line with established protocols.
  • Willingness to undergo training in first responder and first aid is essential.
  • Preferred one year of experience in a security role.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team setting.
Compensation: Starting pay at $15.00 per hour, based on experience.
