Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse or distribution environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Shipping and Receiving:
    • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including labeling, packing, and documentation.
    • Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
    • Record and document damages or discrepancies for reporting to vendors or management.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities in inventory systems.
    • Conduct periodic inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
    • Identify and report shortages, overages, or stock discrepancies.
  • Teamwork and Communication:
    • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, production) to ensure seamless workflow.
    • Serve as a point of contact for carriers and vendors for shipment-related inquiries.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while handling goods and operating equipment.
    • Comply with regulations and company policies related to shipping, receiving, and storage.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; additional certifications in logistics or supply chain preferred.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Work Environment:
  • Primarily operates in a warehouse or distribution facility.
  • May involve standing, lifting, bending, and extended periods of physical activity.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the nature of the warehouse.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $42,000 - $52,000 based on industry standards and location.
