Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our Front of House team at Our Team. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every guest feels welcome and valued, while also providing exceptional service and support to our servers and kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Greeting and Seating: Greet guests immediately upon arrival, acknowledge their presence, and seat them in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Service Cycle Timing: Demonstrate a sense of urgency and meet service cycle timing standards to ensure that guests receive prompt and attentive service.
  • Table Management: Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including tables, chairs, and floors, to ensure a pleasant and safe environment for our guests.
  • Special Requests: Determine and provide for any special needs of guests, such as high chairs, booster seats, or special dietary requests.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Cash Handling: Demonstrate safe cash handling procedures and accurately complete cash, credit card, and discount transactions.
  • Teamwork: Assist servers and kitchen staff as needed to ensure that guests receive prompt and attentive service.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with guests, servers, and kitchen staff.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
  • Guest Service Skills: Possess excellent guest service skills, including the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, to ensure that every guest feels welcome and valued.
  • Basic Math Skills: Possess basic math skills, including the ability to accurately handle cash, credit card, and discount transactions.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand and walk during entire shift, lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs, and bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grasp as needed.

Working Conditions:

The Host/Hostess will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, interacting with guests, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and resolve any issues that may arise. The physical demands of the job include standing and walking during entire shift, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs, and bending, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grasp as needed.
