Radiology Technician Full Time

At Uni Urgent Care, we are seeking a skilled Radiology Technician to join our team. As a Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for X-ray procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Position patients and arrange immobilization devices to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and medical staff.
  • Operate X-ray equipment, adjusting controls to achieve optimal images.
  • Assist physicians and nurses in patient care, including changing dressings and removing sutures/staples.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report any unusual occurrences to physicians.
  • Triage patients, documenting chief complaints, vitals, and social history.
  • Chart procedures performed and document on charge sheets.
  • Develop, mark, and file X-ray CDs, maintaining the CD library and retrieving images as needed.
  • Clean and disinfect X-ray and patient rooms, maintaining equipment and ordering supplies as required.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on X-ray and lab equipment, maintaining records.
  • Assist with front-end registration, perform medical assistant duties, and conduct DOT/Non-DOT drug testing and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT).
  • Perform CLIA-Waived lab tests.

Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
  • Experience: Six months of X-ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current certification and/or state licensure in radiologic technology, Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), and BLS/CPR certification.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of MDE/HIPPA/CLIA and OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures and lab procedures.
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when necessary.
  • Typing skills of 25 words per minute with 96% accuracy and experience using EMR systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
