Job Summary

This role, under the direction of a radiologist or physician, performs peripheral and neurological diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures with minimal supervision. The technologist will apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, utilizing independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Our team is expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Transforming Healthcare Together.

This position is bonus eligible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs all procedures proficiently and maintains high-quality standards.
  • Assists radiologists and/or physicians with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
  • Prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
  • Prepares the scan room for procedures using approved cleaning protocols and maintains adequate supplies and linen.
  • Ensures proper radiation safety measures are utilized.
  • Knows and implements emergency procedures as needed.
  • Performs department and hospital-related computer functions pertinent to the job, entering and recording data accurately and promptly.
  • Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures, ensuring standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
  • Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
  • Provides clinical instruction to student and staff technologists.
  • Participates independently in call rotation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 1 year experience in interventional technology or related experience. Neuro Interventional experience preferred.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • ARRT registered
  • SCRQSA certification
  • BLS certification

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Operation of diagnostic imaging equipment/computers,
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Epic Radiant experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Data entry
  • Mathematical skills
