Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced molecular biologist to join our Next-Generation-Sequencing (NGS) team at Collabera. As an NGS Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of clinical and pre-clinical projects, increasing throughput, and decreasing turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the NGS team to perform nucleic acid quality control assays, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain NGS and its supportive platforms, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Perform nucleic acid normalization and plating, adhering to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sample inventory records, both pre- and post-NGS library prep.
  • Effectively communicate project needs and status updates to supervisors and teammates, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Prepare results summaries for downstream analysis pipelines, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, medical technologies, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of wet lab experience in industry or academic settings.
  • Hands-on experience with general molecular biology laboratory work, including nucleic acid quality control assays.
  • Strong knowledge of NGS platforms and library preparation workflows, with a focus on high-throughput genomic profiling technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative team experience within a centralized molecular technology group, with a focus on flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LIMS, sample tracking, and workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.
