Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains of medical coding.
  • Evaluate student learning outcomes to promote continuous improvement and success, reporting findings to the program director.
  • Utilize strong computer skills and effective communication to engage with a diverse student body.

Required Qualifications:

  • A diploma in a health-related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Medical Coder (CMC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in medical billing, coding, and insurance within the last five years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An associate's degree or diploma in medical records administration, medical coding, or medical billing and insurance.
  • Experience teaching in a health science-related field at the postsecondary level.
  • Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) for course delivery.
