Job Summary

Western Enterprises seeks a skilled Acme Set-up Specialist to operate and maintain multiple spindle lathe type screw machines. The ideal candidate will have experience with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms, as well as a strong understanding of metal fabrication principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively use shop packages, including manufacturing orders, bills of materials, and quality alerts.
  • Ensure that only calibrated gages and tools are used.
  • Set up and operate multiple machines simultaneously as required by the routing.
  • Sort and rework non-conforming parts as needed.
  • Follow safe working practices and report any unsafe conditions to supervisory personnel.
  • Achieve efficiency targets and produce product to established quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks and request raw materials in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S practices.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance according to released methods.
Requirements
  • Basic computer knowledge desired.
  • Ability to safely operate and set up production machines.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and fill in quality forms.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • High School Education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience.
