Job Summary

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our Grading and Pipe Division. This is a full-time position that requires physical labor and manual work in road/highway construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be willing to learn, and have excellent communication skills. The selected individual will work closely with the Site Foreman and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual labor tasks in road/highway construction projects, including cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, and removing waste materials.
  • Operate hand and power tools, such as fine grade fill to grades given by the foreman.
  • Maintain a clean job site, including picking up tools and equipment and securing the site each day.
  • Assist with material handling and storage, loading and unloading trucks, and hauling and hoisting materials.
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Work Environment:

  • Work near moving and mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Exposed to dust and fumes from cleaners, gasoline, diesel, exhaust, etc.
  • Work outdoors and exposed to weather conditions, including heat and cold.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.

Requirements:

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
