Addiction Recovery Specialist

The Middlesex Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified Addiction Recovery Specialist to join our team at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction in Billerica, MA. As a MAT Clinician, you will provide critical treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from addiction.

• Provide individual counseling sessions and facilitate treatment groups under the supervision of the MATADOR Program Director and Health Service Administrator.
• Maintain a patient caseload and prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
• Conduct initial assessments and follow-up assessments for patients in the MATADOR Program.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
• Collaborate with the Case Managers, Navigator Staff, and other MSO Department Staff to address the needs of the patient population.

• A Master's Degree; post-graduate experience is preferred.
• Licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, or LICSW with one year of clinical experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and execute close attention to detail.
• Strong written, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires working in a correctional facility on weekends, nights, and holidays. You will be required to work over eight (8) hours depending on operational needs within the Health Services Unit. Direct contact with inmates/detainees in a secure correctional setting may involve standing and walking for prolonged periods and potentially encountering verbal and physical abuse.

• Starting annual base salary: $81,469.77 plus additional benefits provided through a collective bargaining agreement.
• This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement (NEPBA, Local 525).
