Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds attractive product displays and maintains a visually appealing store by assembling products in designated areas, removing cardboard from shelves as products are purchased, and placing it in a designated area.
  • Collects shopping carts and stores them in the cart corral. Keeps the parking lot free of trash and debris; communicates with management any incidents, actions, or concerns occurring on store premises.
  • Maintains full stock conditions on grocery display racks and shelves.
  • Encourages product sales through active customer engagement.
  • Takes precautions when handling objects to avoid damage to products, property, etc.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures. Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and transporting groceries as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with customers and partners.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate manual and electric pallet jack (partners 18 years and older).
  • Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Typically involves on-the-job training.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required to operate equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, or the ability to focus.
  • Continuously required to talk and hear.
  • Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
  • Continuously required to stand or walk.
  • Frequently required to use strenuous finger and hand movements.
  • Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 pounds.
