As a Toyota Group Company, Hino Motors has been manufacturing high-quality medium and heavy-duty trucks for over seven decades. Our company has employees in four states across the United States, with our Corporate Office located in Novi, Michigan. We assemble medium-duty trucks at our Mineral Wells, West Virginia plant, while our manufacturing facilities in Marion, Arkansas produce axles, knuckles, and suspension components for Toyota's Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia. Our Parts Distribution Center in Mira Loma, California supplies genuine Hino service parts to Latin American and Caribbean distributors.

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for training and supporting team members by providing expertise on the operational aspects of logistics. You will step in and assist with any processes within the department in case of absence of a team member.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Production Line Machinery: You will operate production line machinery following standardized work instructions of the processes under your responsibility.
  • Cross-Train Team Members: You will cross-train in all processes of the assigned area and train and mentor other team members in the appropriate logistical methods.
  • Ensure Continuous Process Flow: You will step in to ensure that the process flow is continuous in the absence of team members.
  • Mentor Team Members: You will observe operators' techniques as they perform their job functions and ensure adherence to standardized work.
  • Coach Continuous Improvement: You will coach the development of operators by encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Job Rotation: You will set up job rotation according to supervisor guidelines to allow for a variety of functions.
  • Abnormal Conditions Detection: You will initiate Stop-Call-Wait if abnormal conditions are detected to prevent flow out.
  • Problem-Solving: You will contact the supervisor to ensure appropriate troubleshooting in case of issues.
  • Continuous Improvement Suggestions: You will suggest ideas for continuous improvement of the processes under your responsibility.
  • Quality Standards: You will conduct visual inspection to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Cleanliness: You will be responsible for keeping the work areas clean according to 5S standards.
  • Safety Standards: You will be responsible for operating within safety standards.
  • Standard Work Instructions: You will create standard work instructions and route instructions using Excel and/or standardized forms.
  • Time Studies and Ergonomic Evaluations: You will complete time studies for each process (Yamazumi) as well as complete ergonomic evaluations for each process.
  • New Team Member Training: You will train new team members.
  • Work Assignment: You will assign work to team members to ensure support for our customers.
  • SV Duties: You will perform duties of SV when necessary.
  • Flexibility: This role requires flexibility to move to other functions within the lines or to the support areas cross-functionally.
  • Downtime Tracking: You will track downtime and maintain quality.
  • Charts and Graphs Maintenance: You will maintain charts and graphs up to date as required.
  • Other Duties: You will perform other duties as assigned.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
