As a Fabrication Associate, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining machines in the shop for pipe fabrication, accurately measuring and recording pipe lengths, and cutting and threading pipe with precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Maintenance: Ensure all machines in the shop are properly set up and maintained for efficient pipe fabrication.
  • Pipe Measurement and Recording: Accurately measure and record pipe lengths to ensure accurate orders.
  • Pipe Cutting and Threading: Cut and thread pipe with precision using band saws, torches, and Landis machines.
  • Pipe Handling: Move loose and bundled pipe from various locations within the pipe yard.
  • Order Assembly: Assemble pipe orders in single sticks or bundles and maintain work supplies in an organized manner.
  • Safety Precautions: Observe vital safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of pipe for storage and transportation.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 1-3 years of fabrication experience preferred.
  • Math Skills: Outstanding math skills and ability to calculate quantities of product on hand.
  • Machinery Operation: Experience and training in operating machinery for cutting and threading pipe according to OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Qualifications: Prior experience working in an HVAC metal fabrication capacity required.
  • Results-Focused: Ability to remain results-focused in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Inclusive Environment: Ability to thrive in an inclusive environment.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a radiographic test and MIG Certification from the American Welding Society required.
