The Nursing Unit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing nursing care and health education for residents in a skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees nursing care delivered by Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other staff.
  • Reviews and enforces all nursing protocols and systems.
  • Evaluates and assesses systems that enhance the quality of resident care and staff performance.
  • Employs a systematic approach in the nursing process to deliver personalized nursing care.
  • Contributes to resident assessments (MDS/CAA's) and the formulation and execution of care plans.
  • Monitors residents' responses to nursing interventions.
  • Understands the rationale for medication and treatment usage and administers as required.

Qualifications:

  • Current state nursing license is mandatory.
  • Current CPR certification and additional nursing specialty certification preferred.
  • Experience in management or supervisory roles within long-term care or geriatric nursing is advantageous.
