Grants Manager

Purdue University Northwest is seeking a highly skilled Grants Manager to join our Sponsored Programs Department. This role is responsible for independently managing a portfolio of externally funded grants and ensuring the university upholds the highest standards of fiscal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently manage the Purdue University Northwest grants portfolio from set up to post-closing (audit)
- Ensure post-award aspects of the implementation plan for the PNW Office of Research strategic plan are on track
- Ensure PNW grants are managed in compliance with Purdue University policies, Federal Uniform Administrative Requirements, and sponsor requirements and expectations
- Develop post-award processes that align with federal, sponsor, and university requirements
- Stay up to date with relevant grant-related developments and policies
- Work with SPS to establish new accounts
- Approve all expenses on grants
- Manage and process effort reporting (Personnel Activity Reports) and other documents
- Monitor and resolve overdrafts
- Provide grant projections and reports on a monthly basis
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met throughout the project
- Manage internal and external audits as needed and maintain backup documentation

- Accrue 15 days' vacation in the first year, increasing to 22 days in the second year, plus rollover

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of finance or budget experience
- Experience in research, higher education, medical, or related field preferred
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment and analytical problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment
- Ability to provide high-quality service in a timely manner
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently, take initiative, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills
- Certified Research Administrator preferred
