Job Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Rheumatology Clinic, you will provide essential patient care and administer medications while ensuring compliance with the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Your responsibilities will include developing care plans, documenting nursing activities, and assisting with procedures and staff training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contribute to the development of a plan of care and follow through with such plan for selected patients.
- Administer medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
- Maintain the exam rooms and work environment.
- Document nursing care and activities.
- Assist with patient care and monitor patients during procedures.
- Assist with the training of other staff.
- Assist departmental assistant with clinical matters.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room, and/or hospital setting that provides patient care. Experience in office clerical activities is desirable.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma or active Multistate LPN license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
