Job Title: School-Based Clinician

Cayuga Centers is seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) team, you will provide goal-directed support and solution-focused interventions to address challenges associated with behavioral health needs.

About the Role:

This is a 12-month, full-time position, working primarily within the hours of a school day. You will work closely with children, youth, and families to help them achieve stability and improvement at school and in their community. Your expertise will be utilized to implement a variety of therapeutic interventions/modalities, apply and develop clinical assessment and evaluation skills, and establish a leadership role within the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strength-based, youth-and family-centered work within a school environment.
  • Support the youth to achieve stability and improvement at school and in their community.
  • Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions/modalities in your practice.
  • Apply and develop clinical assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Establish a leadership role within the team as the clinical guide to treatment planning.
  • Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed practice to help families recognize and work through issues that have been identified.
  • Enhance the functioning of youth and their families while helping them build stronger relationships for their future.
  • Demonstrate an inclusive practice both in the office and in the field to support a diverse and accepting culture.
Requirements:
  • NYS licensed clinical degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy or Mental Health Counseling.
  • Experience working with children and families in a school or community-based setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • A strong belief in the capacity of people to grow and change.
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to appreciate and encourage diversity, and understand the concept of cultural trauma as it applies to individual and family functioning.
