Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Assistant to join our team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during operations, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons during operations, including setting up equipment and instruments
  • Maintain a sterile environment, including preparing and draping patients and operating areas
  • Prepare and maintain surgical supplies and equipment
  • Transport specimens and assist with laboratory analysis
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Degree in Surgical Technology or related field
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Estimated Salary: $68,000 - $88,000 per year
