We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support services in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff and other care team members with patient care, including receiving patients by ambulance and from triage, assisting with ambulatory patients, and setting up and assisting with procedures.
- Perform basic patient observation skills and report significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
- Perform clerical and communication functions to support departmental operations and patient care, including order entry and results retrieval in the computer system.
- Accredited Program Required: Acute Care Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
- Minimum of 1 year Required: Work experience as a Certified or Registered Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or EMT.
- Preferred: Prior acute care hospital experience and previous leadership/supervisory experience.
This role requires the ability to lift patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices. The position also involves frequent reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, and grasping, as well as occasional sitting and moving around the area.
