Child Welfare Liaison

The Diversion Specialist will work closely with the Department of Children and Families as a liaison and resource to Child Protective Investigators (CPIs) to ensure services are provided in a timely manner in accordance with agency operating procedures. The specialist will receive Family Support referrals for safe but high- and very high-risk families, assist with family engagement, and initiate contact with the family. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with community agencies to successfully divert families from entering the child welfare system
- Collaborating with CPIs to ensure timely provision of support services to high-risk families
- Providing outreach and family engagement services to families referred for Family Support
- Managing intake of referrals and coordinating staffing with CPIs
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in child welfare or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Florida Statute Chapter 39 and Florida Administrative Code
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license required for travel within the county and external meetings
Salary Range: $52,000/year
