Journeyman Mold Fabricator

Position Overview:
The Mold Maker Journeyman is tasked with executing new mold projects, refining rough or semi-finished castings into completed components, and making necessary adjustments on unused mold apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct lathe operations and create, without reliance on profiles, various equipment from semi-finished castings, including molds (excluding cavities), mold holders, bushings (outer diameter), round bottom plates, blanks (excluding cavities), baffle holders, baffle inserts, guide rings, guide ring inserts, blow head inserts, and blow head holders. The operator is also responsible for sharpening their own tools.
- Engage in bench work tasks such as blending, shaping, and aligning cavities, making capacity adjustments, necessary cavity relief, and pantograph work where standard numerals and monograms are utilized.
- Perform milling tasks that involve crafting molds, blanks, baffles, bottoms, funnels, and uniquely shaped cavities – or cavities with flutes, rib decorations, or matches where cavity cast rack displacement must be maintained within tight tolerances. Responsible for grinding tapered, fly cutter arch, and other cutting tools, installing them, and making required milling adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Experience with machine lathe and milling operations; familiarity with automatic CNC mills and lathes is advantageous.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Background in bench repair and welding.
- Skilled in using all precision measuring instruments.
- Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Journeyman Mold Maker Certification Required.
- Ability to work an 8-hour rotating shift.
- CNC certification and/or experience is preferred.

Hourly Wage: The hourly wage for this role is $39.31.
