Blast Technician

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Blaster to join our team at Robinson. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for blasting parts and surfaces using various blast media and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blast parts and surfaces using blast equipment and blast media to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Clean and prepare part surfaces to prevent contamination of media and ensure optimal blasting results.
- Follow shop schedules and travelers to ensure timely completion of jobs and maintain a safe working environment.
- Mask treads and plug holes as required to prevent damage to parts and equipment.
- Handle product safely using forklifts, cranes, or carts to move product in and out of the blast area.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment, adhering to ISO procedures and safety protocols.
- Enter times and close jobs on a computer after completion, ensuring accurate records and timely delivery of projects.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous blasting experience is preferred, but not necessary.
- Knowledge of different blast grades and suitable blast media for various metal types is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures, with a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear protective equipment as required.
