Blast Technician

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Blaster to join our team at Robinson. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for blasting parts and surfaces using various blast media and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Blast parts and surfaces using blast equipment and blast media to achieve high-quality finishes.
• Clean and prepare part surfaces to prevent contamination of media and ensure optimal blasting results.
• Follow shop schedules and travelers to ensure timely completion of jobs and maintain a safe working environment.
• Mask treads and plug holes as required to prevent damage to parts and equipment.
• Handle product safely using forklifts, cranes, or carts to move product in and out of the blast area.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to customer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment, adhering to ISO procedures and safety protocols.
• Enter times and close jobs on a computer after completion, ensuring accurate records and timely delivery of projects.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous blasting experience is preferred, but not necessary.
• Knowledge of different blast grades and suitable blast media for various metal types is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures, with a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear protective equipment as required.
