Job Description

Overview:

The Dispatcher I plays a crucial role in managing the daily logistics operations of delivery personnel. This includes organizing delivery schedules, dispatching vehicles, and handling necessary documentation. The position is essential in developing protocols to guarantee timely and efficient deliveries while addressing any operational challenges that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently assign delivery orders to the nearest available driver based on location.
  • Manage delivery assignments and reroute any orders that cannot be fulfilled.
  • Deliver prompt and professional service to clients during phone interactions.
  • Provide delivery personnel with pertinent information and updates regarding their scheduled pickups and deliveries.
  • Accurately input all relevant information into the internal transportation management system.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks and communications based on urgency.
  • Confirm delivery schedules with clients prior to dispatch.
  • Notify relevant departments of any undeliverable orders.
  • Maintain an updated list of on-call delivery personnel for specific shifts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or as a Delivery Technician.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in data entry.

Physical and Working Conditions:
