**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Service Technician to join our team at STERIS. As a remote-based customer-facing employee, you will work primarily inside hospitals, troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience to develop their technical skills further. You will be responsible for performing fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform time-effective troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of medical equipment, prioritizing customer and business needs.
  • Manage service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs, and other duties autonomously.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management) to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Utilize advanced technology platforms to complete compliance regulatory requirements and resolve and document troubleshooting issues.
  • Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options.
  • Build relationships with sales teams to drive customer experience and revenue opportunities.
  • Identify sales opportunities in assigned territories and provide support to various locations within those territories.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of work experience, with 2 of those years in a mechanical/technical role.
  • An Associates degree or related certifications in a technical/mechanical area may be considered towards the technical experience requirement.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to meet required background and physical assessment elements.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. STERIS offers competitive pay, monthly incentives, medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(k) with a company match, tuition assistance, paid vacation time, and paid holidays.
