The Role

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our biocarbon production plant in Williams, CA. As the first member of the plant operations leadership team, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of skilled professionals, developing plant commissioning, start-up, and operating procedures, and ensuring the successful transition from construction to operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the operations team, overseeing production, logistics, supply chain management, maintenance, and customer service to meet Aymium's performance and efficiency standards.
  • Manage the plant's P&L, aligning facility operations with financial budgets and corporate guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reliability, and operational efficiency, driving down costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and safety standards specific to biocarbon production and Colusa County requirements.
  • Oversee quality control processes to maintain consistent product quality throughout the production cycle.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing practices to optimize efficiency and reduce waste in the biocarbon production process.
  • Lead and guide the plant procurement teams to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials for operations and equipment parts and components for maintenance.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, suppliers, customers, other Aymium plants, and Aymium corporate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven experience (minimum 15 years) in managing large-scale production facilities, preferably in continuous process industries such as pulp & paper, chemicals, refining, energy, power, etc.
  • Experience implementing / using continuous improvement programs such as Lean / Six Sigma with a clear track record of success in improving operations results.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse workforce and interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and production management, inventory management, maintenance management software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of biocarbon production processes and technologies.
  • Experience with environmental management systems in general, and knowledge of and experience complying with California's environmental regulations.
What We Offer

A competitive salary range of $175,000 - $225,000 (DOE) annual base, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
